On the right of this page is an example AI powered chatbot that has been fed and trained with some of the common questions and answers that a person may have whilst visiting e.g. a conference or concert venue or perhaps a shopping mall. The questions are listed at the bottom of this page

It uses Natural Language Processing to interpret questions asked in different ways, so for example the question "Where are the toilets?" could also be phrased "can you tell me where the lavatories are ?" and the bot would still give the same appropriate answer. A normal chatbot would only be able to answer the question if someone phrased it exactly as it had been written down. Conversational AI uses Natural Language Processing to engage with users in a natural, human-like manner, using well developed Machine Learning Models that are able to understand human text or speech, identify the intent and respond with relevant information.

This is very different to rule based conversations that can be frustrating but the ability to understand a question asked in a variety of ways and still respond with information that is useful to end user is what makes these chatbots game changers.
